Dubai is the second largest of the Seven
Emirates(States) of the United Arab Emirates and is the country's leading commercial
center.
Dubai has a sub-tropical arid
climate. Temperatures range from 10 to 30C in the winter and can reach as high as 48
deg.C. in Summer. Rainfall is predominantly in winter only. It is amazing pleasant during
the winter which usually starts off end of October and lasts till mid March.

Dubai's prosperity is largely based on oil,
which was first discovered in 1966.
However, Dubai's economy is much more
diversified than most others in the region. Trade, commerce, construction, finance and
other service industries are all important. Increasingly, manufacturing industry is
becoming a major force in the economy, especially in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

It is divided into 100Fils. Since 1980 it has fixed to the dollar at US$=Dhs. 3,678. There
are no restrictions on the import/export of any currency.
