Molana-l-Minaam’s waaz mubarak was prefaced by an address to assembled members of the media. In it Aqamola TUS thanked the local and national governments in particular the Home and Foreign Ministries and the state Government for their invaluable assistance in staging Ashara in Mumbai. Molana TUS also spoke of the impending war on Iraq, praying dua for the protection of Muslimeen in the Middle East. Aqamola TUS stated words to the effect that, “In war there is catastrophe and in concord there is freedom from strife.”

Beginning the waaz, Molana spoke of how the religion of Imam-ul-zamaan (a.s.) is the same as that of his ancestors; Molana Ibrahim, Musa and Eesa nabi (a.s.). There are those who say that Molana Abdul Muttalib
(a.s., Rasulallah’s grandfather) was a mushrik (polytheist) but he was upon haq.

This can be seen in his many miracles; Molana Abdul Muttalib revealed the well of Zamzam. When he did so
the Quraysh insisted that it was the property of their fathers but Molana Abdul Muttalib told them that Allah
had revealed it to him in a dream. The Quraysh demanded that the matter be settled by a kahinah (someone who decides matters through super natural means). Both parties set off and along the way Molana Abdul Muttalib’s water ran out. The Qurasyh refused to give any of their water and those with Molana Abdul Muttalib resigned themselves to death digging their own graves to sit in. Molana Abdul Muttalib sat astride his camel and water sprung up from below its foot. Everybody drank, the Quraysh were invited to drink too and as a result of this miracle they agreed that Allah had indeed given Zamzam to him and the matter was taken no further.

The nas of these predecessors has reached Dai-l-zamaan, Aqamola. This nas has been conferred one from to the next, each successor having met directly with the predecessor.

When Syedna Abdullah Badruddin (r.a.) passed away all the leading figures came to offer taaziyat to Molana
Taher Saifuddin. An elderly barrister came who had seen much of the previous times and he said that, “You
must treat everybody with care, I have seen it all.”

He meant that Molana Saifuddin, being only 28 years old, had no experience and Molana-l-Muqaddas an
inference Molana Saifuddin did not like.

He replied, “You say this; I have seen all of their times….I have served in Syedna Muhammed Burhanuddin’s
time I am aware of all the affairs of Dawat.”

In the Chanda Bhai Galla case there were long and drawn out testimonies on the position of the Dai. The opponents argued that the Dai was but a missionary above whom there are many positions there is no
value to the post of Dai-l-Mutlaq. Syedna Taher Saifuddin replied by saying that the Dai of satr is
above all others he is in the position of the imam.

He is not a viceregent but a vicegerent much like the Viceroys of British India were in the position of their Queen.

Molana’s waaz included the shahadat of Molana Ali Asgher (a.s.). When Imam Husain went into the tent Molatena Zainab asked if he could hear anything to which he replied, “Yes, I can hear the voice of my darling son Aliasgher.” Molatena Zainab AS said, “Aqa look, this child is trembling like a fish out of water.” She asked that he take him, a dushman who had his own children would show mercy and give him some water. Imam Husain took Molana Aliasgher, a kerchief covering him and showing him to the enemy asked for a sip of water in return for which he promised paradise. Instead, Hurmala fired an arrow that hit Molana Aliasgher’s throat and blood burst out. Imam Husain AS took the blood into his hands and threw it to the skies not a single drop fell back to the ground. Seeing the shaan of his child Imam Husain AS realized that he must be buried, there was no one left to do it and he dug the grave with his sheath.

Molana Aliasgher's shahadat was an example of "zibhe azeem" - of which Molana gave 7 examples in the course of today's waaz.

May Allah t`aala preserve our beloved Dai - who is also in the shaan of "zibhe azeem" - until qiyamat.
Ameen
