The seventh waaz mubarak of Ashara focuses on the zikr of Amirul Mumineen - Molana Ali (a.s.).
"Shiato Aliyyin humul faaizoon", "Ali's Shia are triumphant"; on the day of Qiyamat the fires of jahannam will be ordered to hold back for the Shia of Ali are about to cross overhead upon Sirate Mustaqeem. The Shia will traverse overhead and they will not sense any heat. Jahannam will call out to the Shia, "Pass quickly, your radiance is extinguishing my flames!"

It is not possible to harbor mohabbat for Molana Ali and also for Molana Ali's enemy. To have any love for an enemy of Wali'ullah is similar to a drop of impurity falling into a vessel of paak water (containing less than the amount needed to be of 'hadd') - that smallest of drops renders the water naapaak.

Mohabbat has many facets but its essence is to imitate the one being loved. It is written in the Ikhwanus Safa that 'falsafat' is to emulate ilaahiyyat (godliness) as far as is humanly possible. For a Mumin, this means to emulate the imam, duaat and hudaat kiraam.

Animals have what is called 'kamale thaani' (roughly: the 'second completion'). This means that they have the knowledge they require to survive from birth. They know what they can or cannot eat and even an elephant, inspite of its size, if it finds itself in water it will know how to swim. Animals spend only a short time with their parents before they become like them.

In order to raise a human infant, on the other hand, is like a lump of meat requiring great efforts and toil to care for and for a long period of time. They are like a blank page upon which the lines of aakherat are to be written.

The Imam is lord of our soul and possessions. At Ghadeere Khum Rasulallah asked the assembled Muslims, "Am I not 'owla' (more in command) of your souls?" to which they replied, "Yes, of-course!"

To this Rasulallah declared, raising Molana Ali up as high as his knees, "Whoever's Mola I am, this Ali is their Mola!"
Thus, soul and possessions, which first belonged to Rasulallah, now became Ali's, then the Imams and then the Duaat.

It is exemplified by the fact that, in the past, individuals would do arz of their calculated yearly expense budget to Duaat and then ask for raza to spend that amount in that year.

The hours of the day should be divided into 3; one for worship, one for earning and the third for recreation. If one were to consider a waking day as being of fifteen hours this means five hours for worship. At the very most, if one were to pray with the utmost of care, the five farizat/ sunnat namaaz would take no more than 2 hours leaving a surplus of three hours. In spite of this we tend to pray without concentration in a manner that is condemned by Rasulallah's hadith, "The worst of thieves is the one who thieves in his namaaz."

There are 4000 'huduud' (criteria) involved in namaz.

Being trades people if we knew that by taking our shop a short distance away we would double, treble or even quadruple sales we would not hesitate. Rasulallah has promised 25 times the sawaab of one namaaz if prayed in a masjid. Yet, even though there are many, one in each mohalla, we choose to pray a single namaaz at home.

In order to give zakaat one has to first tackle seventy shayaateen - breaking their jaws. Mumineen everywhere are giving more and more zakaat. Khumus is also compulsory - it is the Imam's right, using zakaat is haraam on Ahle Bayt. Many people regularly arz 'Sharwa' (Haqqul nafs) in multiples of 119 - guineas or other currencies.

Mumineen have closed their businesses to attend waaz and students with exams scheduled for Aashura have decided to attend waaz from beginning to end - come what may.

Speaking on the building of the Saifee Hospital Molana bestowed lavish dua mubarak upon Sheikh Murtaza bhai Dohadwala who has contributed 52 crore rupees (US$11 million) to the project. Molana described him as a Mumin mukhlis who had been given the wealth of imaan as well as great material wealth and also the tawfiq (inclination) and himmat (strength) to spend it philanthropically.

When Imam Moiz (a.s.) sent Qaid-Johar to conquer Misr, Molana Qaid-Johar had 1100 camels laden with riches. They were not for the expenses of the army but for spectacle.

When the army readied to enter Misr they found the bridge over the Nile in the hands of the Misris. At this point Qaid-Johar turned to one of his generals - Jafar - and said, "For the likes of this day your Imam is expectant of you."

Jafar, in full armour, plunged into the river followed by others and they swam the breadth of the Nile leaving the Misris in awe of their strength.

At the end of Amirul Mumineen's shahadat, Aqamola urged Mumineen to matam with the words, "Ali's matam is taking place in the realm of angels. O' Mumineen you too are like angels.
