Momenin of Madagascar are eagerly awaiting and praying for Huzurala TUS visit here. We are hoping that Huzurala TUS will inshallah visit Tananarive, Madagascar  on the special occasion of Chehlam of Imam Husain A.S. A new masjid in Tananarive is eagerly awaiting its iftetah by Huzurala TUS. Two other masjid in Madagascar, in the town of Tuliyar and Ambilube are also awaiting the iftetah. If that dream comes true, we invite momenin from all over the world to visit Madagascar on this occasion.

Climate:

We are in southern hemisphere which means our summer is over and the month of April is the beginning of  spring weather. Tananarive is 5000 feet or 3000 meter above the sea level and the Climate here is moderate thru out the year. Temperature in April, during the day time may be around 24 to 26 degrees and it could drop to 18 to 20 degrees in the Evening.

Travel Related:

Madagascar is an island. One can reach Tananarive, the capital, by air from Paris, Johanesburg, Mauritius, Nairobi and Reunion island. The airlines which fly here are Air France, Air Mauritius, Air Austral, and Air Madagascar.

Visa is available at the airport.

Currency is Malagasy Franc, rate is 7000 franc to a dollar

Hotel and Taxi rates:

Hotel rates range from US$ 20 to 55 per room per day

Transportation in Tananarive is mostly by private taxi, at a reasonable price. Taxi fare (upto four passangers) from most hotels to the masjid complex would be about US$2. Small buses for 7 to 11 persons are also fairly reasonable.

Communication facilities:

Telephone services are fairly good-regular and mobile phone services, email facilities, etc. It is recommended that  vistors bring his/her mobile telephone apparatus, and purchase chips here locally.

Overseas mehman who wish to attend Chehlam waaz here will receive the following facilities from the Jamat of Tananarive.

Visa immigration assistance at the air port

Transport from the airport to the registration office at the masjid complex

Assistance in selecting the hotel and providing discounted rates.. 

Transportation from the resgistration office to the hotel
