Baad Salaam,
From the
air-port Aqa Maula (TUS)'s motorcade left in a police escort to his qiyamgah
at Abidbhai Jafferji's residence in Mbweni area. The istiqbal function was
held in a
vacant plot outside the residence, where close to 2,000 Mumineen had been
seated under a shamiyana. The police band was also at hand to colour the
occasion.
Aqa Maula (TUS) alighted from his car and was jalwa afroz in a covered
purple hued stage decorated with Zanzibar spices. Mumineen unable to contain
themselves and with tears welling in their eyes, chanted Maula Maula Maula
as they jostled to catch a glimpse of the noorani chehra and Salami of their
beloved Maula. Also on stage, were Shahzada sahebs, the Indian and Chinese
counsellors, the Mayor, Regional Commissioner, Mufti and Kazi of
Zanzibar.
The Istiqbal function started with a traditional cultural performance
followed by the
tilawat e Quran e Majid, bouquet presentation and the customary sharbat /
wadhawanu rasam performed by Shahzada Ali Waqar Qusai Bhaisaheb Vajihuddin
Saheb. There were warm welcome speeches made by Shk. Taherbhai (a Zanzibari
from the Diaspora), the Indian Counsellor and the chief Kadhi.
Afterwards, Aqa Maula TUS delivered Kalemaat Nooraniyah in which he prayed
for the peace and prosperity of Zanzibar and its people.
Aqa Maula TUS also called on Mumineen to be loyal
citizens.
The function ended with vazifatus shukur and singing of the Tanzanian
national anthem.
Aqa Maula left for his qiyamgah borne on a miyana where Maula TUS performed
the iftitah of
Abidbhai's new residence.
