Baad Salaam,

Zanzibar is a historic seaport on the west coast of Zanzibar Island (known locally as Unguja). Also famously known as The Spice Island, it is a popular destination for tens of thousands of tourists attracted by its sunny white beaches and exotic charm. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, masjids and grand Arab houses. The Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. Buildings with ornate, brass studded carved wooden doors line narrow winding streets.

It is the only functioning ancient town in East Africa. Stone town was recently and deservedly declared a world Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Since the bushra of Huzurala (TUS)'s tashrif awri was announced, Mumineen had been arriving in Zanzibar, the majority of them Zanzibaris (from the Diaspora) currently domiciled in mainland Tanzania, Kenya, the UK, North America and Pakistan. For many of them it was a trip down memory lane.

Saturday, 18th August 2007 was a historic day for Zanzibar Mumineen. By 10:00 am the new nafees masjid (ground+1 floor), its sahen and adjacent hall were full with Mumineen who had travelled from far and wide. Zanzibar Mumineen were seated on the left, while mehmano on the right side of the masjid. The masjid's architecture is a blend of Fatemi design and local Zanzibari features.

At 10:30 am, Aqa Maula (TUS) arrived at the main entrance door (left hand side door) and performed the Iftetah.

AAJ NA MUBARAK DIN MA, ZANJBAR MA, MASJID NAWE SAR SI BANI CHE, EHNI IFTETAH KARUN CHHU.

Aqa Maula (TUS) entered the masjid and was jalwa afroz on a raised platform. As he stood, to give mumineen deedar nu sharaf and Salami deafening chants of Maula!! Maula!! Maula reverberated throughout the masjid . At 10:45 am, Zanzibar Janab Amilsaheb, Sheikh Hamzabhai Bharwaniwala and Ayanul Jamaat rose for araz of maqdam najwa. Janab Amilsaheb dedicated the 240 years old historic masjid whose taamir was made anew as hadiya to Huzuralla. At 10:52 Shahzada Qusai Bhai Saheb Vajiyuddin (DM) did araz for waqaf of masjid.

At 11:00 am, Maula started waqaf ni zikra. MASJID NAWE SAR SI BANAWI CHE. MUMINEEN BI SHAMIL CHE. AAJ NA MUBARAK DIN MA, MAMLUKO AALE MOHAMED NE HADIYA KARO CHHO. MAMLUKO AALE MOHAMMED KABOOL KARUN CHHU.

MUMINEEN NI JAMAAT, MAMLUKO ALE MOHAMMED MASJID NA WAQAF NI ZIKR KARUN CHHU.

The mardo section, the east and south portions of the behno ni masjid were pronounced waqaf. Maula (TUS) retained the name AL MASJIDUL VAJIHI for the new masjid. Maula (TUS) did zikr of the barakat and neemat since taamir of Al Jamea ul Anwar and the many masjids which have been built or under construction since then.

In Doa e kalemaat, Maula prayed for the khidmat guzaars and for the peace and safety
of Mumineen. He warned on the evils of moharamaat mentioning tobacco, cigarette and ribah.

Later Aqa Maula (TUS) delivered his Noorani bayan in two sessions with a short namaz break. He did zikr of Chandabhai gulla case, the maqam of Dai el Mutlaq and his position as Vice Gerent if Imam A.S. (in seclusion) and not Vice Regent. He emphasized the importance of Dai TUS's mohabbat (Aqa Maula TUS's mohabbat). This was followed by purdard zikr of shahadat of Maulatena Fatema A.S. , Imam Husein A.S. and Ahlebait. Mumineen responded with bukaa and purjosh matam. Aqa Maula (TUS) had bestowed barakaat of Lailatul Qadr and Ashura during a single miqaat. Generations of mumineen will be indebted in shukur for the nawazish and barakaat of our Daatar Bawa Shafiq.

This was followed by ziyafat of Bhai Alihusein Seifuddin who was bestowed with sharaf of Hadiyat. After ziyafat, Maula left for his Qiyamgah.

Later in the evening at Mulla Abidbhai's Jafferji's residence, with azeem ehsaan, Aqa Maula (TUS) bestowed sharaf of Qadambosi on all Zanzibar Mumineen and some mehmano. Dulhao and dulhano taking part in the Rasme Saifee programme were also bestowed this sharaf. Qadambosi was followed by Shk. Saifuddinbhai’s ziyafat during which his daughter's nikah was performed by Aqa Maula (TUS). Later nine other nikah were performed by Shahzada Aliqadar Mufaddal Bhai Saheb Saifuddin DM and Shahzada Aliwaqar Qusai Bhai Saheb Vajihuddin DM.

This morning Aqa Maula (TUS) had traveled to Kizimkazi area in the south of Zanzibar Island for tafrih. This coastal resort is popular for viewing bottle nosed dolphins. Inshaallah tomorrow Huzuralla is expected to depart for Arusha.

May Allah grant Aqa Maula (TUS) sehat afiyat malabis fakhera till roze Qayamat – Ameen.
