The Messenger of ALLAH Prophet Mohammed’s (p.b.u.h.) Last Sermon

After the Prophet Nabi (SAW) had performed his last and only Hajj. Almighty ALLAH SUBANAHU decreed him to proclaim Valaayat as the first & foremost pillar of ISLAM & IMAAN. And pronounce the Nass on Ali AS as the rightful and only successor to the Messenger of ALLAH.

This sermon (Khutbah) was delivered on Friday the 18^th of Zilhajj 10 A.H. (632 AD) at Gadir-e-Khum on the way to Medina from Mecca, near the Uranaah valley of Mount Arafat, amongst a gathering of seventy thousand faithful followers of ISLAM.

“ O people, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether, After this year, I shall never be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners.hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all Interest obligation shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat

Your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every

Muslim is the brother of another Muslim .you are all equal. Nobody has superiority over other except by piety and good action.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words, which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QUR’AN and my Itrat (example), the sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.

So saying, the messenger of Allah proclaimed Ali (AS) as his Successor and Vasi by lifting Maulana Ali ibn Abi Talib from his knees and declared that, “MAN KUMTO MAULA HO, HAAZAA ALI UN MAULA” : “FOR THOSE WHOM I AM MAULA, HENCEFORTH ALI IS YOUR MAULA”

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly.

Be my witness O ALLAH, That I have conveyed your message to your people”

After this proclamation of NAS on ALI A.S.  Nabi Mohammed SAW took MISAAK of all present which lasted for three consecutive days. Those who understood this message from the messenger of ALLAH in its entirety and full spirit are truly the winners both here in this world, as well as in the hereafter (Aakherat)

Thus it is our utmost duty to do Shukraanaa Sajaadaat to Almighty ALLAH for giving us the blessings of Aakherat in the PAAK & NOORANI person of Azamatus Sultaan Syedna Abul Qaid Johar Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (TUS) who perseveres day and night for our sake to lead us on the path of righteousness viz. (SHARAIH MOHAMMEDIYAAH).

Aqa Maula TUS now and again recites the significance of this special day as IDD-ULLAHIL-AKBAR.

And encourages us to observe fast ( SAUM-Roza) on this day, the benefit or sawaab of, which is such that it is equivalent to performing 100 HAJJ & 100 UMRAAH and the Namaaz to be offered during Zawaal (afternoon) time equivalent to 1 lakh HAJJ and 1 lakh UMRAAH.

And ALLAH THE RAHMAAN (MOST BENEFICIENT), THE RAHIM (MOST MERCIFUL), will surely fulfill all our DUA, desires & requirements both here and in the hereafter. - Amin

And last but not the least lets pray that HE gives LONG LIFE to Our Beloved Aqa Maulana TUS - Amin.

It should be noted here that this historically significant place of Gadeer-e-Khum was researched and verified by Aqa Dr.Syedna Taher Saifuddin R.A.during his visit to Mecca /Medina some four decades ago.
